Fred and Carol , the proprietors of the Alyeska Soldotna Lodge in Soldotna, Alaska are both Denver, Colorado natives. Carol has also lived in other western states.
Fred, having lived in the Denver area most of his life, has been an avid fisherman since his youth. He has lived in Steamboat Springs, Colorado for the past 7 years raising his teenage daughter. He also has a grown son also involved in business.
Fred always dreamed of going to Alaska and when that dream was finally realized, he knew he had found where he wanted to be.
He has had extensive business experience, from working in the family hardware business from his youth, to developing a gourmet beef jerky business, an advertising agency, selling cars and running a successful greenhouse growing wheat grass and sprouts to sell to local grocery stores. He has been in the mortgage business for the past 10 years.
A plan developed of having a fishing lodge in Alaska and providing spacious, hospitable lodging for others who wanted to live their
dream of an Alaskan fishing vacation. Soldotna was chosen for its convenient location to varied fishing adventures.
While in the process of developing this idea, Fred and his wife Carol, a widow with six children and six grandchildren, met and married, and together they pursued the establishment of the Alyeska Soldotna Lodge.
We hope you will find your stay with us comfortable and memorable. We strive to provide a welcoming, friendly and fun atmosphere where your lodging needs will be met and your expectations will be exceeded.
